Walter von Gulat-Wellenburg

Walter Karl Hermann von Gulat-Wellenburg (born March 29, 1877 in Karlsruhe , † August 1, 1944 in Irschenhausen ) was a German neurologist and psychiatrist .

Life

Walter Gulat von Wellenburg was the son of the administrative lawyer and Chamberlain of the Grand Duke of Baden, Eduard Gulat von Wellenburg (1835–1901) and Elise Benedicta von Gulat-Wellenburg, née Grötz (1848–1930). His brother was the Grand Ducal Chamberlain and State Archivist Max Gulat von Wellenburg (1868–1926).

Von Gulat-Wellenburg studied at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg , in Paris, at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich and at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel , where he received his approval and doctorate in 1902. In 1903/04 he worked as a ship doctor for the North German Lloyd . In 1905 he sat in at the 2nd Psychiatric and Nervous Clinic in Vienna and in 1906 was established as a doctor in Baden-Baden .

On February 9, 1907, in Karlsruhe, he married Emma Anna von Chrismar (1882–1962), who was born in Trieste . With her he went to Munich in 1907 , where he settled as a neurologist, initially living and practicing at Leopoldstrasse 18 . In 1910 his wife bore him a daughter and in 1913 a son.

In Munich he also came across Mathilde von Kemnitz , with whom he wrote the critical examination of Albert von Schrenck-Notzing's materialization phenomena from 1914. Before the First World War he had been promoted to medical officer of the reserve in the Imperial Navy ; when he later resigned from the reserve service he was senior staff doctor. Res. A. D. He was also a member of the medical service of the Teutonic Knight Order ( Marians ). In 1919 he was accepted as a full member of the Automobile Club of Germany .

In 1926 he moved his domicile and practice to Rheinbergerstraße 5 , in 1927 to Clemensstraße 28 and then in 1928 to Ainmillerstraße 33 . In retirement he lived with his wife at Elisabethstrasse 10 , where he was still practicing in 1938.
