Wartmann Holding

The Wartmann Holding AG is a technology and real estate group based in Brugg in the Swiss canton of Aargau . It is from the steel construction company Wartmann & Vallette Cie. Founded in Brugg in 1896 . emerged.

history

In 1896, the construction engineer Rudolf Wartmann-Füchslin from Bauma took a stake in the steel construction company that the engineer Hermann Schröder from Mollis set up near the Brugg train station. Three years later he was able to take over the company and founded it together with the Civil Alfred E. Vallette of Jussy in Geneva , who from 1890 to 1899 in the Northeastern Railway had been working as head of the bridge construction offices, the general partnership Wartmann & Vallette Cie. At this company, among others, the bridge construction engineer Othmar Ammannhis first job. In 1906, the Brugger company, together with other companies, founded the Association of Swiss Bridge Construction and Steel Construction Companies, which Rudolf Wartmann led as second president from 1913 to 1925. From 1907, the company, to which other partners now belonged, traded as Wartmann, Vallette & Cie. AG .

From 1907 to 1914 the company also had a branch in Geneva.

In 1947 the subsidiary Stahlschweisswerk Wartmann AG was established in Oberbipp and in 1948 an engineering office of its own in Zurich.

In 1970 the stock corporation Conrad Zschokke , Döttingen , founded by Conradin Zschokke in 1900 , and Wartmann merged to form the new company Zschokke Wartmann AG , based in Brugg. The new company expanded the factory premises in Döttingen and sold the factory premises in Brugg to Kabelwerke Brugg, which is located on the neighboring property .

In 1976 the company changed its structure and became a holding company . It gave up the participation in the steel construction division of Zschokke Wartmann. In 1996 Zschokke Wartmann AG sold the hydraulic steel construction division to H. Erne Metallbau , Leuggern .

The Wartmann Holding AG now runs four companies: the Wartmann Technologie AG in Oberbipp, which specializes in welding work, apparatus and vehicle construction, the Wartmann Immobilien AG in Brugg, including with share of overbuilding Stahlrain in Brugg, by Metron architects been executed is, the tank storage Oberbipp AG and since 1977 the tank storage company Deroil SA in Romont ; it also has a minority stake in Kabelwerke Brugg AG .
