action

The ecologically oriented Bavarian hobby biologist Peter McDonald travels to his mother in Berlin to ask her for money to breed a super lettuce variety. After realizing that his mother is not only very depressed, but also a brothel owner, he turns away from her, gets into the daughter of a wealthy consul and tries to finance his salad cultivation on his own. Monika, a young pastry chef, who he falls in love with and who lives in a strange allotment garden, which is inhabited by many different characters, helps him with this. There is also a lot of activity in the complex, as a delicatessen exporter is trying, with the help of the police, to lay the complex in ruins in order to create new building land.

After a garden party in the allotment garden colony, it becomes clear that something is wrong with McDonald's super salad. The people who eat it fall into hypnosis and the vehicles it comes into contact with can suddenly go twice as fast as usual. After an inspection of the salad by the international secret services, a dispute develops between the superpowers of the earth and extraterrestrial exponents in the breeding. When the US military arrives in Berlin, the scene is watched by extraterrestrial beings, the bionauts, who closely monitor McDonald's every step. When finally an American tank shoots through a fatal mistake a watchtower of the GDR troops on the East Berlin side, the third world war threatens to break out.

Reviews

"In spite of the star cast, it is quite stupid and banal [...] Grandpa's cinema celebrates its origins with crude slapstick and lots of idiots: Plenty of inedible greenery."

- allesueberfilme.de

“Conceived as a parody of Berlin conditions and science fiction films, but completely unsuccessful; ludicrous, banal and boring. "

“Peter ... can't really enjoy growing his super salad because all the superpowers ... want the energetic green for themselves. All of this takes place in Berlin, so as not to miss out on funding from the Berlin Senate. "
