Wasdale is a valley and civil parish in the Lake District , Cumbria , England . The Wasdale Valley is largely filled by Wast Water Lake. The small mountain lakes ( Tarn ) Greendale Tarn , Low Tarn and Scoat Tarn are located on the slopes on the north side of the valley.

The Irt River and tributaries of the Wast Water, such as the Lingmell Beck and Mosedale Beck , flow through the valley.

The valley is bordered to the north by Seatallan , Haycock , Scoat Fell , Red Pike , Yewbarrow , Pillar as well as Kirk Fell and Great Gable .

To the south, the Great End , Ill Crag , Scafell Pike , Illgill Head and Whin Rigg delimit Wasdale from the Eskdale Valley.

The Sty Head Pass connects Wasdale with Borrowdale as well as Eskdale and Great Langdale .

The hamlets of Wasdale Head and Nether Wasdale are in Wasdale.
