Wedigo Reimar Gans, Noble Herr zu Putlitz (* 1567 , † 1626 ) was a Brandenburg State Councilor and Commander of the Order of St. John in Schivelbein.

Life and career

Wedigo Reimar was a member of the Brandenburg aristocratic family of the goose, noble lords of Putlitz . His first marriage was in 1598 with Ursula von Grünberg (1581-1612), daughter of Zacharias von Grünberg (1516-1581) on Zeitz , Kurbrandenburg councilor and governor of Küstrin and Elisabeth von Arnim (1555-1590).

Gans zu Putlitz was the heir to Wolfsburg, Putlitz , Wittenberge and Lunow. He was Hereditary Marshal and Privy Councilor of the Kurmark Brandenburg, 1598 governor of Zossen , from 1606 to 1610 governor of Cottbus and Peitz , 1607 captain of Küstrin and 1611 governor and commander of Schievelbein .

During the reign of Elector Johann Sigismund , he headed both commissions of the Privy Council for Prussian and Juliet affairs.

family

In 1614 he married Catharina Elisabeth von Randow , Brandenburg lady in waiting , daughter of Caspar von Randow auf Zabakuck and Elisabeth von Barby from the Loburg family .

The son Georg von Winterfeld also became a knight of the Order of St. John, a senior and commander in Schivelbein. A daughter, Helena Lucretia Gans Freiin von Putlitz (1643–1699), was married to Hans von Schönaich zu Amtitz (1623–1675) in his second marriage.
