Location of Kreuztal in the Siegen-Wittgenstein district

Fellinghausen is a district of Kreuztal in the Siegen-Wittgenstein district of North Rhine-Westphalia . The village consists of the districts of Fellinghausen , Dornseifen and Weiden .

history

It was first mentioned around 1300, and an exactly dated document exists from 1344. Dornseifen and Weiden were first mentioned in 1413.

The rural character was retained until 1818, but with the industrial development there was a change to the workers' community, in which agriculture was only available as a sideline.

Until the end of 1968 the place belonged to the Ferndorf office . On January 1, 1969, Fellinghausen was incorporated into the town of Kreuztal, which was created as part of the municipal reorganization .

A special feature in Fellinghausen is the historic Hauberg , which shows the form of traditional forest use in the Siegerland . In the project, the forest cooperative has committed itself to continuing an area of around 24 hectares from its forest ownership in the old form of forest management (historical Hauberg use) in order to make a contribution to maintaining tradition. Regular tours for school classes, clubs or private groups are organized by the Fellinghausen Forest Cooperative in cooperation with the Hilchenbach Forestry Office .

In 2011 the Förderverein Historischer Hauberg Fellinghausen was founded. Thematic tours and environmental education measures are organized by the association and the State Forest and Wood Agency in North Rhine-Westphalia . In 2019, the Hauberg economy in Siegerland and neighboring regions was included in the nationwide directory of intangible cultural heritage . The association is supported by the NRW Foundation . The day of the Hauberg is held every two years . Every year a coal pile is set up for the production of charcoal.

In addition, there are eleven local associations in Fellinghausen, including the TuS Fellinghausen 1920 e. V. and the Kyffhäuser Kameradschaft Fellinghausen e. V.
