Weigendorf is a church village and part of the Loiching community in the Dingolfing-Landau district in Lower Bavaria . Until 1971 it formed an independent municipality, to which 36 other districts belonged in addition to the main town Weigendorf. The area of ​​the former municipality continues to exist in the Weigendorf district within the Loiching municipality.

Weigendorf is located on the Scheiblbach about two kilometers south of Loiching. The district road DGF 8 runs through the village .

history

Weigendorf consisted of thirteen properties in 1752. The more places extensive chairman shaft Weigendorf belonged to the Office Teisbach the District Court Teisbach. After its dissolution in 1803, the place was subordinate to the district court of Vilsbiburg . The district court community Weigendorf emerged from the tax district of the same name and consisted of 40 districts. From 1838 it belonged to the newly formed Dingolfing Regional Court . In 1871 the community of Weigendorf had 37 towns and 890 inhabitants. 102 people lived in the main town of Oberwegendorf. At the 1961 census, the community Weigenhof comprised 37 places and 2,770.64 hectares. Of the 1,011 community residents in 211 residential buildings, 134 lived in the main town of Oberweigendorf . The other places in the municipality were Anzenbrunn , Atzbach , Baiersdorf , Baumgarten , Buchet , Deixlerb , Ehrenreith , Erb , Goben , Göttersdorf , Grafenwald , Haindlfing , Heck , Heising , Krottenthal , Lehen , Maßendorf , Nußberg , Oberspechtrain , Oberteisbach , Oberwolkersdorf , Pfeffersberg , Piegendorf , Pischelsdorf , Polling , Rampelsberg , Reinöd , Reit , Staudach , Stemmern , Sterzenreith , Unterspechtrain , Unterweigendorf , Unterwolkersdorf , Wendelskirchen and Wornstorf .

As part of the regional reform , the two communities Weigendorf and Loiching were merged on April 1, 1971 to form the community Loiching. The officially named districts Oberweigendorf and Unterweigendorf were combined to form the district Weigendorf.

In 1987 the area of ​​the former community Weigendorf with its 37 districts had 1152 inhabitants, of which the church village Weigendorf 151 inhabitants.

Regular events

Every year a Leonhardiritt takes place in Weigendorf , which can be traced back to the beginning of the 19th century. Open-air festivals have been held in Weigendorf since 1979, organized by IBV Weigendorf. In 2012 the village of Weigendorf had 231 inhabitants.
