from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The weissbooks.w Verlag is a German literary publisher in the legal form of a GmbH with headquarters in Frankfurt am Main . The name of the publisher entered in the commercial register is Weissbook GmbH.

The publisher was announced at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2007 and founded in January 2008 by Rainer Weiss (previously Program Manager at Suhrkamp Verlag ) and Anya Schutzbach (previously Marketing Manager at Suhrkamp). The book design with the eponymous white cover was done by the Swiss typographer Fritz Gottschalk. The main focus of the publishing program is fiction and narrative non-fiction . Contemporary literature is in the foreground . Since July 1, 2019, weissbooks.w (with its own publishing program) has been run from Zurich under the umbrella of the Swiss Union Publishing House.

The name of the publisher appears as the writing weissbooks.w on the dust jackets in a slightly different form. The second w indicates an imaginary permanent repetition of the name, similar to an electronic advertisement (weissbooks.weissbooks.weissbooks ...) and is intended to symbolize the company's mobility.

The publishers' authors include: Ildar Abusjarow , Artur Becker , Barbara Bongartz , Jan Brokken , Erika Burkart , Emil Cioran , Pauline de Bok , Dorothea Dieckmann , Esma Annemon Dil , Franz Dinda , Christina Eibl , Vanessa F.
