Welschingen is the largest district of Engen in the Baden-Württemberg district of Konstanz .
Location and transport links
Welschingen is located on the west side of the Hohenhewen , south of the core town of Engen on the state roads 190 and 191. The federal highway 314 runs to the west and the federal highway 81 to the east . The lowest point in the municipality of Engen at 470 m above sea level. NHN is in the district of the place.
The nature reserves Binninger Ried , Hohenhewen and Schoren are in the immediate vicinity (see list of nature reserves in the district of Konstanz ).
history
The place goes back to the Alemannic settlement period. It is mentioned for the first time in 752 in a document from the St. Gallen monastery . A castle in Welschingen is mentioned in 1337.
Welschingen was incorporated into Engen on January 1, 1975.
