World Heritage in Uruguay

The World Heritage in Uruguay (as of 2017) includes two UNESCO World Heritage sites , both of which are world cultural heritage sites. Uruguay acceded to the World Heritage Convention in 1989, and the first World Heritage site was added to the World Heritage List in 1995. The last World Heritage site to date was registered in 2015.

World heritage sites

The following table lists the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Uruguay in chronological order according to the year of their inclusion on the World Heritage List (K - cultural heritage, N - natural heritage, K / N - mixed, (R) - on the Red List of World Heritage in Danger ).

2015 K 1464 The Fray Bentos industrial landscape is an early example of the industrialization of food production. In 1863, the German engineer Georg Christian Giebert founded the world's first meat extract factory in Fray Bentos.
