The Wengelsbach is an approximately three kilometer long right tributary of the Sauer in Alsace and the southern Palatinate .

The Wengelsbach rises in the Northern Vosges at an altitude of about 263  meters where the Alsatian community Niedersteinbach belonging hamlet Wengelsbach in two source branches, close to the border between France and Germany . The two source branches flow together after about 250 m and the combined stream initially moves in a north-easterly direction until it meets the D190 . There it turns north-northeast and flows along the German-French border through the species-rich valley named after it, past the Lindelsberg on its right and the Dachsberg on the left. It now crosses the border into Germany and a little later is dammed into three small ponds one after the other . It then runs through the Wiesen biotope in the Wengelsbach valley to the south, past a small settlement with weekend houses and shortly afterwards forms a series of seven small fish ponds . The stream from the ruins of Blumenstein also flows into the third pond . The Wengelsbach now passes south of the Gebüger Straße ( K43 ) the western part of the Palatinate community Schönau , then crosses under the same street and finally flows directly southwest of the Königsweiher at an altitude of 211  m above sea level.
