Werner Narten

(Georg) Werner Narten (born December 13, 1832 in Hanover ; † June 29, 1889 in Kassel ) was a German architect .

Life

Adolf and Hermann Narten's brother studied at the Hanover Polytechnic from 1851–1856 . As one of the best students of Conrad Wilhelm Hase , he became his employee at the church in Hilter . The building was completed in two and a half years and inaugurated on December 14, 1859.

From 1860 he worked independently in Hanover. In 1863/1864 he worked with his friend Adelbert Hotzen on building the palace in Hastenbeck . From 1863 he was office manager at Hase. From 1865 to 1869 he directed the restoration of the St. Nikolai Church in Lüneburg and was an assistant teacher at the local trade school .

After falling out with Hase in 1869, he ran his own office in Lübeck .

In 1870 he was in Kassel as the successor to Carl Schäfer teacher of architecture at the higher trade school and from 1872-1880 also at the commercial drawing school. Louis Angermann (1861-1892) was one of his students and later collaborators in 1885–1888.

Works

Together with his brother Adolf, he restored the cathedral in Meldorf around 1871 and around 1882 . In 1871 he built the trade museum with drawing school in Kassel and various country churches in Hesse, e. B. as new buildings the Protestant churches in Heisebeck (1885), Haueda (1885/86), the Protestant Advent Church in Kassel (1886–89), the Protestant churches in Gertenbach (1888/89), Ostheim (1889/90) and in Schönstadt (1896–97) and the renovation of the Protestant church in Trendelburg (1889–91).
