The training center for professions in the health sector is located in Heide with the state-recognized school for nursing professions, at which nurses are trained, and the Dr.-Gillmeister-Schule (state-recognized school for technical assistants in medicine), at which radiology assistants ( MTA-R). In addition, here surgeon's assistant (OTA) formed. In addition to the training, the technical college entrance qualification can also be acquired.

In addition, the state-approved school for geriatric care of the DRK regional association in Kiel is located at the training center, where the training to become a geriatric nurse or geriatric care assistant can be completed.

Since 2009, the Rescue Service Academy of the Rescue Service Cooperation in Schleswig-Holstein gGmbH has been connected to the training center, where emergency paramedics and paramedics are trained.

Like many clinics in rural areas, the WKK suffers from a lack of specialist medical personnel in particular. The reason for this is, on the one hand, the situation in a structurally weak region and, on the other hand, the catastrophic training conditions for young assistant doctors. Since 2017, the WKK has therefore been offering a scholarship program for the recruitment of young doctors. In this context, the scholarship holders receive a monthly grant of 300 euros for a maximum of 6 years. In return, the scholars undertake to work at the WKK for 3 years, otherwise the money received must be repaid with interest. In addition, the managers are trained in special workshops in how to deal appropriately with employees after there were more and more complaints about antiquated management styles with sometimes degrading behavior towards assistant doctors.
