Wiktorija Alexandrowna Sliwko ( Russian Виктория Александровна Сливко ; English Victoria Slivko ; born May 5, 1994 in Muromzewo ) is a Russian biathlete .

Career

Beginnings

Wiktorija Alexandrovna Sliwko first took part in international competitions as part of the Junior World Championships 2013 in Obertilliach . There she won gold with the Russian relay and achieved two top ten results with a sixth place in the sprint and a ninth place in the pursuit. At the Junior World Championships next year, the Russian relay finished second and won silver. In addition, Sliwko only appeared in the singles and was fourth there.

In 2015 Sliwko competed at the Junior European Championships in Otepää and won gold in the individual. In the pursuit, after finishing eighth in the sprint, she narrowly missed a second medal with fourth place. The Russian season prevailed against the other seasons and won gold. At the Junior World Championships of the same year, the relay won silver, as in the previous year. She achieved her best individual result with a fifth place in the individual.

At the beginning of the 2015/16 season , Sliwko competed in the IBU Cup for the first time and finished fifth in one of the two sprint races in Idre . In Ridnaun , Italy , she won her first race in the IBU Cup together with Uljana Kaischewa , Matwei Jelissejew and Alexei Wolkow in the mixed relay. In the sprint race and in the pursuit race she just missed the podium with places five and four. In the overall ranking of the IBU Cup, she finished seventh at the end of the season. At her first European championships she only started in the single mixed relay and won it with Anton Babikow .

First World Cup use (since 2016/17)

In the season 2016/17 started Sliwko with a victory in the mixed relay. In Martell , she was able to improve her placings from a fifth, through a fourth, to a third place, thus achieving her first podium finish. At the beginning of 2017 she was allowed to start in relay races of the World Cup for the first time . The Russian squadron reached once the 13th and once the 5th place. In Kontiolahti , Finland , she first started in the IBU Cup and reached the podium twice and improved her personal best to a second place. Then she started in both Kontiolahti and Oslo in the World Cup and reached the points in three of four races. She ended the season with a new personal best, a 24th place in the pursuit. She finished fifth in the overall ranking of the IBU Cup. In the overall ranking of the World Cup, she was able to achieve 76th place.

In the 2017/18 season , Sliwko started in the World Cup from the start. She started in the first race of the season, the single mixed relay, in Östersund and finished eighth with Jelissejew. In the individual she was 28th and also in the sprint and pursuit she reached the points. With the Russian relay, with two fourth places, she narrowly missed the podium in both Hochfilzen and Oberhof . In the two sprints in Annecy and Oberhof, she missed the pursuit and achieved her worst placements in the World Cup. At the singles in Ruhpolding , she again just reached the points with a 39th place. Then she took part in the European Championships and won bronze in the individual and just missed a second bronze medal in the sprint with a fourth place. With the mixed relay she could finally win silver. After the European Championships, she started again in the IBU Cup and won her first race there in the sprint. She was unable to maintain this ranking in the persecution that followed and was eighth. After this mission she started again in the World Cup and once again achieved the points. After she was 76th overall in the previous season, she improved to 71st place.
