Wilfried Boehm

Wilfried Böhm (born February 9, 1934 in Kassel ) is a German economist and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

Böhm was born as the son of an employee in Kassel. After attending elementary school in Kassel and from 1944 to 1950 the high school in Mulhouse / Thuringia , returning to Kassel and the High School in 1954 at the secondary school Böhm took a degree in economics at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and the University of Marburg on , which he finished in 1958 with the examination for a degree in economics . MP

Böhm was city councilor for the city of Kassel from 1960 to 1964. He was elected to the district council of the Melsungen district in 1968 and was a district council member of the Schwalm-Eder district from 1974 to 1981 after the regional reform . He was chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in both municipal representations. From 1966 until his resignation on December 5, 1972, he was a member of the Hessian state parliament and from 2002 to 2006 a member of the city council in Melsungen.

Boehm was in the federal election in 1972 over the national list of the CDU Hesse in the German Bundestag elected, which he belonged to the 1994th He ran six times in the constituency of Hersfeld . In addition, Böhm was a member of the Western European Union (WEU) assembly from 1977 to 1995 . Since 2005 he has been an honorary member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. In this capacity, on behalf of the Council of Europe, he awards flags and plaques of honor to European cities that have made a contribution to town twinning and thus make the coexistence of citizens in Europe a reality. Böhm bestowed such awards over fifty times, more than half of them to cities in Poland.
