Wilhelm Alexander Franz von Zastrow (born June 22, 1833 in Krummkavel , Soldin district , † September 3, 1906 in Berlin ) was a royal Prussian lieutenant general .

family

He came from the Vorpommern nobility family of those von Zastrow from the Kölpin line. His father Otto Hermann Heinrich Julius von Zastrow (* 1803; † 1875), royal Prussian major , married on June 17, 1833 in Rostin Elisabeth (Betty) Salingre (* 1807; † 1878). Wilhelm Alexander Franz, the couple's oldest child, had three sisters (including Adelheid von Rothenburg ) and a brother.

His paternal uncle, the royal Prussian general of the infantry Heinrich Adolf von Zastrow (* 1801; † 1875) donated a money fideikommiss of 300,000 marks, which were beneficiaries Wilhelm Alexander Franz and his siblings.

Military background

In 1845 Zastrow served as a second lieutenant in the 2nd Leib-Hussar Regiment . In 1866 he was promoted to Rittmeister and in 1882 to Lieutenant Colonel . In 1883 he was given command of the 6th Magdeburg Dragoon Regiment in Diedenhofen and in 1886 he was promoted to colonel . From 1888 to 1891 Zastrow was, since 1889 as major general , commander of the 12th Cavalry Brigade. At last he was entrusted with the duties of the commandant of Neisse fortress . 1891/1892 Zastrow was in the temporary retirement as Lieutenant General for grabs asked.

He died on September 3, 1906 at the age of 70 in Berlin. His grave is in the Berlin Invalidenfriedhof (field C), where his wife Anna and his uncle Heinrich Adolf are buried.

Wilhelm Alexander Franz von Zastrow married Anna Ottilie Erdmuthe Tschuschke (* 1849, † 1940) in Posen on May 25, 1869 . The marriage remained childless.
