Wilhelm Bawa Egginger (born April 6, 1912 in what is now Garmisch-Partenkirchen ; † July 29, 1983 ) was a German ice hockey goalkeeper and from 1988 a member of the Hall of Fame of the German Ice Hockey Museum .

Wilhelm Egginger first played at club level as a goalkeeper for MEV 1883 Munich and from December 1932 for SC Riessersee . With the SCR he won the German championship title in 1935, 1938, 1941, 1947 and 1950 . For the German national ice hockey team Egginger took part in the 1936 Winter Olympics in Garmisch-Partenkirchen . During the Olympic tournament, he managed not to concede a goal in two consecutive games as a goalkeeper (so-called "shutout"), which a German goalkeeper only succeeded 77 years later - Rob Zepp at the 2013 World Cup .

After his active playing career, he worked as an ice hockey referee , was also used internationally at two World Cup tournaments and was honored as the best referee in 1959 .
