Wilhelm Pomezny

Wilhelm Pomezny (born July 28, 1887 in Adrianople , Ottoman Empire , † May 8, 1958 in Berlin ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Pomezný attended a commercial college and graduated with a degree in business administration from, then he became a bank clerk. During the First World War he was a soldier for four years. Between the wars, Pomezny was self-employed in the import and export trade. Until the end of the Second World War he was a senior commercial employee.

In 1945 Pomezny joined the SPD and worked in district offices and for the magistrate of Greater Berlin . In the Berlin election in 1946 he was elected to the district assembly of the Lichtenberg district and quickly became chairman of the SPD parliamentary group there. In October 1947, Pomezny was elected district mayor of the Lichtenberg district, and in December 1948 he resigned. He then worked as head of budget in the state health department . In September 1949 he moved up to the Berlin city council , since Wilhelm Urban was district councilor in Lichtenberg. He was also able to move up to the Berlin House of Representatives through the " law on representation of the circles prevented from voting in the House of Representatives of March 27, 1951".
