Wolfram Friedersdorff

Wolfram Friedersdorff (born March 16, 1950 in Naundorf (Saxony) ) is a German politician of the Die Linke party . Until July 2014 he was an alderman and first deputy of the mayor of the state capital Schwerin . Since autumn 2014 he has been President of Popular Solidarity .

Life

Friedersdorff, as the original SED member, had been the economic policy spokesman for the PDS faction in the East Berlin city council since 1990 . In 1992, he became city councilor for economics and finance in Berlin-Lichtenberg . From 1995 to 2001 he held the post of district mayor in Lichtenberg , since 2001 from the former districts of Lichtenberg and Hohenschönhausen formed Lichtenberg . On November 15, 2002, Friedersdorff moved to the Ministry of Social Affairs in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania , where he was State Secretary until 2006 .

On April 24, 2006, the Schwerin city ​​council elected Friedersdorff to be alderman and first deputy mayor. Since then he has headed the building, order and environment department. After the starvation of a five-year-old girl in Schwerin in November 2007, Friedersdorff temporarily took over responsibility for the youth welfare office from Head of Department Hermann Junghans in January 2008 . As a result of these events, the previous mayor, Norbert Claussen , was voted out of office on April 27, 2008. Friedersdorff was then acting Lord Mayor of Schwerin from May 1 to October 31, 2008.

Friedersdorff is married and has five children. Running a marathon is one of his hobbies.
