Angelika Gramkow (born September 27, 1958 in Grevesmühlen ) is a German politician ( SED , PDS and Die Linke ). She was Lord Mayor of the City of Schwerin from 2008 to 2016 .

After attending the ten-class polytechnic high school from 1965 to 1975 in Ludwigslust and completing her vocational training with a high school diploma as a construction worker in the housing combine in Schwerin, Angelika Gramkow studied economics at the Karl Marx University in Leipzig from 1981 to 1986 and graduated as a graduate economist. She was a technical college teacher at the technical college for finance in Gotha, branch in Schwerin, and later at the vocational school for economics and administration in Schwerin. In 1978 she joined the SED and has worked in the FDJ district leadership in Schwerin since 1981 .

Since 1991 Gramkow was a member of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania state parliament and in the fifth electoral term spokeswoman for the Left Party for budgetary, financial and women's policy. At the same time she was a member of the Schwerin city council. From 1999 to 2006 she held the position of chairman of the PDS parliamentary group in the state parliament and from 2006 to 2008 she was chairman of the finance committee.

In the Schwerin mayor election on September 14, 2008 Gramkow achieved a share of the vote of 38.2% and was thus just ahead of their competitor Gottfried Timm (38.1%). In the runoff election on September 28, 2008, she was able to prevail with 50.5%. With the assumption of the mayor's office on November 1, 2008, the mandate of the state parliament was connected according to the law on representatives. On September 18, 2016, she lost 39.9% of the vote to the SPD candidate Rico Badenschier in the runoff election .

In the local elections in 2019, she was elected to the Ludwigslust-Parchim district council.
