Wilhelm Theodor Bahr (born February 1, 1792 in Bruges , Soldin district , † February 15, 1867 in Berlin ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

His parents were the preacher in Bruges Friedrich Wilhelm Bahr and his wife Karoline Sophie, née Gericke.

Military career

With the beginning of the wars of liberation Bahr reported as a volunteer and was on 23 February 1813 as hunters in the Regiment of the Guard . As a second lieutenant he came on May 3, 1813 in the 15th Silesian Landwehr Infantry Regiment. He was wounded in the battle of Großgörschen , but fought again near Bautzen , on the Katzbach , Laon and Paris . Bahr was also wounded at the crossing near Wartenburg . He also fought in the battles near Löwenberg, earned the Iron Cross II class near Bunzlau , fought at Montmirail , La Chaussee, Trilport, Chateau-Thierry and Chalons. He was wounded again at Trilport and in 1814 he was assigned to the Leib-Infanterie-Regiment .

On June 14, 1815, Bahr became Premier Lieutenant in the 15th Silesian Landwehr Infantry Regiment. From there he was transferred to the Stettin Guard Landwehr Battalion on April 14, 1816, and on December 1, 1816, he was commanded as an adjutant of the Landwehr Inspection in Stettin . On March 30, 1824 he was transferred to the 2nd Battalion of the 1st Guards Landwehr Regiment. Here Bahr became captain and company commander on June 18, 1824 . From April 1, 1825 to May 31, 1826 he was commanded in the Lehr-Garde-Landwehr battalion. He was then transferred to the Guard Reserve Infantry Landwehr Regiment. After that, with my promotion to major on March 30, 1838 , I was employed as commander of the 2nd battalion in the 2nd Landwehr Regiment. On March 27, 1847, he joined the 9th Infantry Regiment , rose to lieutenant colonel in May 1848 and was appointed commander of the 14th Infantry Regiment on November 18, 1848 . Bahr was born on January 18 1851 for Colonel transported and on March 17, 1853 presentation of the character as a major general with board adopted. He died on February 15, 1867 in Berlin and was buried on February 19, 1867 in the garrison cemetery.

Bahr married Henriette Wilhelmine Emilie Kunze (1801–1877) in Lagow on August 16, 1822. The couple had a daughter who was married to Major Eduard Suren. The daughter Maria (1828-1859) was married to the later Lieutenant General Eduard von Valentini .
