Wilhelm Uhlig
Wilhelm Uhlig (born January 28, 1930 in Guttenberg ) is a German sculptor.
life and work
From 1951 to 1959 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg with Hans Wimmer .
In 1972 Uhlig took over a professorship at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg. His students included u. a. Michaela Biet , Hannes Arnold , Yoshimi Hashimoto and Clemens Heinl . In 1983 he was elected as a full member of the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. He is a member of the artist group Der Kreis .
Since 1951 he has been close friends with his sculptor colleague Walter Ibscher , who lives in Nuremberg and with whom he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg. Uhlig lives and works in Nuremberg .
