Wilhelm Zobl
Wilhelm Zobl (born January 9, 1950 in Vienna , † March 21, 1991 in Hanover ) was an Austrian composer, musicologist and translator.

Guitar, Musikhochschule Wien : composition (Erich Urbanner, Friedrich Cerha ), drums (Richard Hochrainer), piano (Erwin Christian Scholz); University of Vienna: musicology, mathematics, 1972/1973 Warsaw: composition ( Włodzimierz Kotoński ), Humboldt University Berlin / GDR: musicology, aesthetics, doctorate to Dr. phil. with a dissertation on Hanns Eisler in 1978.

1969–1972 MHS Vienna: work at the Institute for Electroacoustics, founder and percussionist of the improvisation group Spiegelkabinett, 1972/1973 experimental studio of the Polish Radio Warsaw, music critic, translator of Henrik Ibsen (together with the Norwegian composer Synne Skoven), 1976–1983 managing director, 1983 –1988 Vice-President and from 1988 President of the IGNM Section Austria, 1985 University of São Paulo : visiting professor, Rio de Janeiro : Lecturer at the Cursos Latinoamericanos de Musica Contemporanea, 1987–1991 MHS Vienna: teaching assignment for electroacoustic music .
Wilhelm Zobl was buried on April 11, 1991 in the Vienna Central Cemetery in an honorary grave (group 40, number 164).
