Wilhelm Hermann Karl Viktor Blume , von Blume since 1888 (born May 9, 1867 in Berlin , † October 2, 1927 in Horneck Castle near Gundelsheim ) was a German lawyer, university professor and politician.

Life

He was the son of the Prussian general of the infantry Wilhelm von Blume and his wife Karoline, née Suffrian (* 1843).

Blume studied law in Marburg , Berlin and Göttingen , where he obtained his doctorate in 1892 and qualified as a professor in 1894 . He then taught Roman law as a private lecturer . In 1896 he became an associate professor at the Philipps University of Marburg and since 1898 he was a full professor in Rostock . In 1900 he came to the Albertus University in Königsberg , in 1904 to the Martin Luther University in Halle and in 1912 to the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen . From 1916 to 1917 he was rector of the Eberhard Karls University. In 1916 he received the Cross of Honor of the Order of the Württemberg Crown . He found his final resting place in the Nikolassee cemetery in Berlin in field E.

politics

Blume was a supporter of Friedrich Naumann until the National Socialist Association was founded , then turned to national liberalism and became a member of the DDP after the World War in 1919 . The chairman of the Württemberg constitutional committee, Wilhelm Keil , was able to win Wilhelm von Blume as its rapporteur from December 17, 1918 to January 15, 1919. On January 23, 1919, Blume was appointed by the provisional government as government commissioner to deliberate on the draft constitution in the state constituent assembly. He was instrumental in bringing about the constitution of the free state of Württemberg . With the death of the Landtag member and last Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Württemberg , Theodor Liesching , Blume moved up as a member of the Württemberg Landtag on August 1, 1922 . For health reasons, Blume decided not to run again in 1924.
