Otto Ludwig Wilhelm Ferdinand von der Schulenburg (born June 15, 1806 in Berlin , † May 5, 1883 in Beetzendorf ) was the Prussian district administrator and regional director of the Altmark .

family

Schulenburg came from the Altmark noble family von der Schulenburg, first mentioned in a document in 1237 . He was the son of the royal Prussian captain and district administrator Wilhelm von der Schulenburg (1772-1838), landlord on Priemern, Bretsch with Dewitz and Drüsedau , Lindhof , Beetzendorf, Apenburg with Rittleben, Winterfeld , Probstey Salzwedel , Maaßleben, Eichstedt and Seegarden, and the Julian of Kirchbach (1785-1873).

Schulenburg's first marriage was on September 27, 1833 at Gut Rühstädt in Prignitz ( Brandenburg ) Bertha von Jagow (born January 6, 1813 in Berlin; † October 20, 1835 at Gut Salzwedel), the daughter of the hereditary master of the Brandenburg Kurmark, Friedrich von Jagow , landlord of Rühstädt, Quitzöbel and others, and the Adelaide Countess von Hacke . Life

Schulenburg was the founder of Fideikommiss Beetzendorf and Probstey Salzwedel, hereditary kitchen master of the Kurmark Brandenburg. He was royal Prussian real privy councilor and district administrator, as well as regional director of the Altmark, legal knight of the Order of St. John and member of the Prussian manor house .

In his function as long-time chairman of the Altmark Association for Patriotic History and Industry, Schulenburg had the castle site of the Schulenburg near Stappenbeck excavated and restored it. Medieval weapons and equipment were found during the excavation . The castle, which fell into desolation in the 14th century, was the eponymous seat of his family.
