William Ferreira , full name William Ferreira Martínez , (born February 25, 1983 in Artigas ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

society

Ferreira was born to Luis Demetrio Ferreira Bastos and Lilian Martinez Bonete. The 1.76 meter tall offensive player Ferreira was at the beginning of his career at least from the Apertura 2002 up to and including the Clausura 2004 in the squad of the first division club Nacional Montevideo , for which he previously played in the reserve team (Formativas). In 2002 he won the Uruguayan national championship with the Bolsos . Nine missions (one goal) in the Clausura 2003 and 24 first division games (one goal) in 2004 are explicitly performed for him, all of which are apparently incorrectly assigned to the Clausura of that year in the source. In the Torneo Especial 2005 he scored a goal in the Primera División at Centro Atlético Fénix . At Fénix he was also the top scorer in the Segunda División in 2006 with eleven goals . In the 2006/07 season he played 26 games for the first division club Rampla Juniors and scored six times in the opposing goal. In the Apertura 2007 he was back in the ranks of Fénix. There he is said to have played ten games in this first division half series and scored four or five goals depending on the sources. At Clausura 2008 he switched to Defensor Sporting within Montevideo . With three personal goals he contributed to winning the championship title there. In the 2008/09 season he ran in another ten first division matches for Defensor and met six times in the Apertura 2008. The coach also used him four times in the Copa Sudamericana (one goal). Then his further career path led abroad for the first time. In January 2009 he joined the Bolívar Club in Bolivia . 120 missions in the LFPB and 85 hits are there for him from 2009 up to and including the 2011/12 season. In 2009 he won the Apertura with the team, and in 2011 the Torneo de Adecuación. On January 31, 2011, Ferreira was in the meantime awarded by the Bolivian club to the Spanish club Real Valladolid . Ultimately, however, the change failed because the transfer deadline for the transfer window was not met and FIFA refused to approve. From July 2012 he played six months for Liverpool Montevideo 14 times in the Primera División (four goals). He scored his first goal for the Montevideans on September 9, 2012 in the game of the 1st match day against Danubio . On December 2, 2012 in a 4: 4 against Racing, he scored the last time for Liverpool. He was there six times in the Copa Sudamericana to train (one goal). Then he returned to Club Bolívar. In the remainder of the 2012/13 season he played 21 LFPB matches (17 goals). In 2013 he won the Clausura as team captain with the Bolivians and was again top scorer. He had previously won the title of the most successful goalscorer in Bolivia's top division in the Clausura 2009 (13 goals), the Clausura 2010 (14 goals), the Apertura 2011/12 (19 goals) and then also in the Apertura 2013/14 ( 17 goals). In 2013/14 he was used in the league in 41 games and scored 28 goals. During the two phases of his club membership, he also played for Bolívar 24 games in the Copa Libertadores and scored eight goals in this competition. In early July 2014 he joined the Mexican club Leones Negros . With the Mexicans he played 16 first division games (one goal) and three games (one goal) of the Copa México . At the end of January 2015 he moved to Independiente del Valle in Ecuador . There he was used in 16 games (one goal) in Primera A and one game (no goal) in the 2015 Copa Libertadores . He has been back in the ranks of Club Bolívar since August 2015 at the latest. In the meantime it was reported at the beginning of July 2016 that further employment and thus a contract extension “Fiera” Ferreiras at the Bolivian club was not intended for economic reasons. The annual earnings of the player was given by the club with $ 270,000 and exceed the financial possibilities of the club. However, after he had last played for the club in May 2016, he was back in action by February 2017 at the latest. So far (as of July 15, 2017) he has played 37 games (17 goals) in the Primera Division, two games (two goals) in the Copa Sudamericana 2015 , one game (no goal) in the Copa at this third career station with the Bolivians Libertadores 2016 and two (no goal) in the Copa Sudamericana 2017 .

National team

Ferreira was also part of the Uruguayan U-20 squad . There he was on December 29, 2002 in the preparatory game against a selection of the Ligas Federadas de Maldonado for the national team coached by Jorge Da Silva on the field and scored in the 6-1 victory. With the Celeste he took part in the U-20 South American Championship 2003 in January of the following year , in which Uruguay finished 5th. In Bolivia there were efforts to naturalize Ferreira in view of his performances there in the league so that he would be eligible to play for the Bolivian national team. Ferreira, however, was opposed to such a request in September 2011 and said that she no longer wanted to talk about it.
