William J. Flynn

William James Flynn (born November 18, 1867 in New York City , † October 14, 1928 in Larchmont , New York ) was an American government official. On July 1, 1919, he became the fourth director of the Bureau of Investigation (BOI), which later became the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). He resigned from office on August 21, 1921. During the First World War he was employed by the Secret Service .
