William "Reid" Priddy (born October 1, 1977 in Richmond, Virginia ) is an American volleyball player .

Career hall

After moving to Florida, Priddy got into volleyball as part of a summer school . During his studies he played in the team at Loyola Marymount University from 1997 to 2000 . In May 2000, the outside attacker made his debut for the US national team . From 2000 to 2003 he was active in Europe and played one season each for the Italian club Volley Forlì , the Aon hotVolleys in Vienna and in Nikea in Greece . In 2003 he won the NORCECA championship with the national team . The following year Priddy first took part in an Olympic tournament and finished fourth with the USA. After a season with Tonno Callipo Vibo Valentia , he won again at the continental championship. He then moved to South Korea to Daejeon Samsung Fire Bluefangs , before playing again in Greece for Olympiacos . After the third NORCECA title in a row, the attacker was signed in 2007 by the Russian first division club VK Lokomotiv Novosibirsk . In 2008 he won the world league with the national team . At the Olympic tournament in Beijing , the USA won the final against Brazil and thus the gold medal. 2010 Priddy moved within the Russian league to VK Zenit-Kazan . In his first season with the new club, he succeeded in the Russian championship and made it to the final of the Champions League , which Kazan lost to Trentino Volley . In 2012, Kazan was again Russian champions with the US outside attacker and triumphed in the Champions League against Skra Bełchatów . At the Olympic Games in London , Priddy finished fifth with the USA. He then went to Turkey, where he won the Turkish Cup and the European CEV Cup with Halkbank Ankara in 2013 . With the national team, Priddy won the NORCECA Championship for the fourth time in 2013 and the World League for the second time in 2014 . After a brief engagement in Italy with Lube Macerata and winning the bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , Priddy ended his long indoor career.

Career Beach

Since 2000, Priddy has also played beach volleyball with various partners on the US AVP tour . Since 2017 he has been concentrating exclusively on beach volleyball. At the AVP Open in San Francisco and in Manhattan Beach he finished third together with the Brazilian Ricardo Santos . Priddy also made it onto the podium several times with Jeremy Casebeer in 2018 on the AVP Tour.

Private

Priddy has been married to Lindsay Pierce since 2007. The two live in Southern California and have a son Caden (2010) and a daughter Scarlett (2015).
