Willy Winkelmann

Willy Winkelmann (born May 19, 1890 in Redlin ; † July 1970 ) was a German politician ( CDU ). He was chairman of the CDU district council in Halle .

Life

Winkelmann completed a teacher training course and then worked as a secondary school teacher in Zeitz . From 1922 to 1924 he belonged to a Masonic Lodge .

After the " seizure of power " by the National Socialists, he joined the NSDAP on May 1, 1933 ( membership number 2.772.220). However, on March 14, 1935, he was expelled from the NSDAP because of his membership in a Masonic lodge.

After 1945 he was a lecturer at a teacher training institute and for over ten years director of the Geschwister-Scholl-Oberschule in Zeitz. In 1946 he joined the CDU. He was chairman of the CDU district association Zeitz and acted from January 1957 to January 1964 as chairman of the CDU district executive in Halle. Winkelmann resigned at his own request for reasons of age and was appointed honorary chairman of the CDU district association. He was elected the successor candidate on October 3, 1958 at the 9th party congress and on June 25, 1960 at the 10th party congress as a member of the main board of the CDU. Winkelmann was also a member of the Halle district assembly from 1958 to 1967 .
