Joseph Wujciak

Joseph Wujciak , different spelling Josef Wujciak, (born October 26, 1901 in Helbra ; † October 6, 1977 ibid) was a German politician ( CDU ). He was a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt and the People's Chamber of the GDR .

Life

The son of a miner from the Mansfelder Land also became a miner after attending the Catholic elementary school. From 1915 to 1945 he worked as a tractor, filler and cutter in the Mansfeld copper mine. In 1918 he became a member of the Christian Miners' Association and in 1927 the Center Party . In 1929, Wujciak passed the master's examination.

After the end of the Second World War he joined the CDU in the Soviet occupation zone and the FDGB in 1945 . From 1945 to 1948 he worked as a chipper, instructor and clerk for technically-based labor standards (TAN). Together with Fritz Himpel , Wujciak initiated the “ Hennecke Movement” in copper mining in October 1948 .

From 1948 he was chairman of the CDU district association Eisleben and member of the CDU state committee Saxony-Anhalt . Wujciak became a member of the 2nd People's Council of the Soviet occupation zone in May 1949 and a member of the People's Chamber when the GDR was founded in October 1949 . On March 26, 1950, Wujciak was elected second chairman of the German-Polish Society for Peace and Good Neighborhood . From June 4, 1950 to July 1952, he acted as chairman of the CDU regional association of Saxony-Anhalt . By virtue of this office, he was confirmed on June 6, 1950 as a member of the Political Committee of the main board of the CDU. In October 1950 he was elected to the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt and on November 3, 1950 as vice-president of the state parliament. After the dissolution of the states and the formation of the districts in the GDR, he was chairman of the CDU district committee in Halle from August 1952 to January 1957 . Wujciak was a member of the People's Chamber until 1958 . He was a member of the Political Committee of the CDU main board until the 7th party congress in September 1954, but remained a member of the main board until 1958.

Wujciak last lived as a pensioner in his parents' house in Helbra.
