Wisłoczek is a village with a Schulzenamt of the municipality Rymanów in the Powiat Krośnieński of the Subcarpathian Voivodeship in Poland .

geography

The place is located on the stream of the same name, a left tributary of the Wisłok , in the Lower Beskids , in the so-called Lemkenland . The neighboring towns are Królik Polski in the west, the city of Rymanów-Zdrój in the north, and Tarnawka and Zawoje in the east.

history

The place was first founded in 1381, 1391 or 1401 by Ivan from Goraje and Klecie under German law under the name Międzyrzecze (about the place between the rivers , i.e. Tabor in the west and Wisłok in the east). The current name, a belittling of Wisłok , appeared in 1470 as Vysloczek . In 1512 it was transferred from German to Wallachian law and a field was given to an Orthodox priest. In 1518 the villagers Sienko, Ivasko, Iaczko, Stanko, Hricz and Clim Rusini were mentioned.

The village initially belonged to the Kingdom of Poland (from 1569 in the aristocratic republic of Poland-Lithuania ), Ruthenian Voivodeship , Sanok region . During the First Partition of Poland , Wisłoczek came to the new Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria of the Habsburg Empire in 1772 (from 1804). 1880 there were 813 except Greek Catholic Lemken and 9 Jews and two Roman Catholics. The Ukrainian organizations “Proswita” and “Verkhovyna” were active there.

After the end of the First World War and the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, Wisłoczek came to Poland in 1918. This was only interrupted by the occupation of Poland by the Wehrmacht in World War II .

In 1946, the residents of the village moved to Soviet Ukraine. In June 1969 the first Protestant families from Cieszyn Silesia settled there , especially from the Polish minority in the Olsa region in Czechoslovakia , where the situation was worse for them. The settlers, the majority with no farming experience, were religiously motivated and looked for greater freedom for their Pentecostal church from the communist authorities. A total of 16 Teschen-Silesian families came. The residents do not consume alcohol or nicotine and enjoy a good reputation. In 1994 a prayer house was built in the village.

The local Pentecostal congregation continues the tradition of the Związek Stanowczych Chrześcijan organization founded in 1910 in Cieszyn Silesia , which was separated from the Lutheran Church, and is now one of only 7 congregations of this church (Ewangeliczna Wspólnota Zielonoświątkowa) in Poland. Other parishes are located in the nearby villages of Puławy , Wola Piotrowa , similarly populated by Pentecostals, and in the towns of Sanok and Gorlice . In addition to Pentecostals, there are also supporters of the William Branham movement in Wisłoczek .

From 1975 to 1998 Wisłoczek belonged to the Krosno Voivodeship .
