Vladimir Alexandrowitsch Kowin ( Russian Владимир Александрович Ковин ; born June 20, 1954 in Gorki ) is a former Soviet - Russian ice hockey player who worked as a coach in France after his career ended.
Career
During his career in the Soviet Union, he played between 1972 and 1988 with Torpedo Gorki in the country's top division, the Wysschaja Liga . In total, he scored 174 goals in 536 games in the Soviet league.
International
On August 18, 1976, he was in a game against Sweden for the first time for the Soviet national team on the ice. His international career was crowned with a gold medal at the 1984 Winter Olympics . For the national team, he scored 21 goals in 64 international matches. On May 1, 1985, he played his last international match. In 1984 he was named the Honored Master of Sports of the USSR .
In France
In 1988 he received permission to move to Western Europe and played for HC Reims in France's first and second division until 1994 . In the 1994/195 season played for ASG Tours . At both clubs he acted as a player-coach.
In the 1998/99, 2003/04 and 2007/08 seasons he returned to the ice for a few games, otherwise he was a youth coach at HC Reims and Reims Champagne Hockey .
