Vladimir Ivanovich Ivanov

Wladimir Iwanowitsch Iwanow ( Russian Владимир Иванович Иванов ; usb. Vladimir Ivanovich Ivanov ; * March 11th ^July / March 23rd  1893 ^greg. In Tula ; † March 15, 1938 in Moscow ) was a Soviet state and party functionary. He was First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party in the Uzbek SSR and First Secretary of the CPSU (B) of the Northern Region and People's Commissar for Forestry.

Life

Ivanov attended high school in Tula , in 1912 he moved to Moscow and studied from 1912 to 1916 at the Medical Faculty of Moscow University . In 1915 he joined the RSDLP . In 1916 he was arrested. In 1917 he became secretary of the Moscow District Party Committee (Rajkom) of Khamovniki . In November 1917 he became a member of the Revolutionary Military Committee and the staff of the Red Guards in the Basmanny district of Moscow . In 1918 he graduated from the Medical Faculty of Moscow University. From August to October 1918 he was chairman of the Cheka in the Kamyshin district . From October 1918 to 1919 chairman of the Executive Committee of the Kamyshin District Soviet. From September 18 to November 16, 1919 he was a member of the Revolutionary Military Council of the Fergana Front. 1919/1920 he was the responsible organizer of the Moscow District Party Committee in Basmanny. In the first half of 1921 he worked as secretary of the party committee of the Yaroslavl governorate . Then Ivanov was deputy chairman or chairman of the organizational department of the Moscow City Committee of the KPR (B) until 1924 . In 1924 he was chairman of the Moscow Control Commission of the KPR (B), 1924/1925 a member of the Central Control Commission and the Presidium of the Central Control Commission of the KPR (B).

From October 1924 to February 1925 he was also secretary of the organizational office of the Central Committee of the KPR (B) . From 1925 Ivanov was a candidate for the Central Committee of the CPSU (B). From February 13, 1925 to 1927 he acted as first secretary of the Central Committee of the CP Uzbekistan, from 1927 to March 1931 he acted as second secretary of the North Caucasus Regional Committee of the CPSU (B). From April 1931 to February 1937 he was First Secretary of the Northern Region (Северный край) and the Northern Oblast (Северная область) of the CPSU (B). On February 10, 1934, he became a member of the Central Committee of the CPSU (B). On October 1, 1936, he was appointed People's Commissar for the Wood Industry of the USSR. He was arrested on November 1, 1937.

Ivanov was among the defendants in the Third Moscow Trial in 1938 , in which many high party and state officials were charged with alleged subversive activities. In these processes a political opposition of communists within the Communist Party of the Soviet Union was eliminated with the help of criminal law and practically the entire leadership of the October Revolution . As an alleged member of the "bloc of the Right and Trotskyists ", Ivanov was also sentenced to death by shooting on March 13, 1938 and executed on March 15, 1938 . He was accused of deliberately mismanaging the forest industry in the northern region and from 1911 to 1916 as a lure of the Ochrana department and the gendarmerie administration in Moscow and other cities.

In 1959 he was rehabilitated.
