Vladimir Maslachenko ( Russian Владимир Никитович Маслаченко ., Scientific transliteration Vladimir Nikitović Maslačenko * 5. March 1936 in Wassylkiwka , Ukrainian SSR , Soviet Union ; † 28. November 2010 in Moscow , Russia ) was a Soviet football player and longtime television commentator.

Club career

Maslachenko played from 1953 to 1957 for Metalurg Dnipropetrovsk . In 1957 the goalkeeper moved to Lokomotiv Moscow , where he won the Soviet cup competition in the same year. After five years at Lok, he moved to Spartak Moscow in 1962 and was able to celebrate a championship title and two other cup wins.

International career

Maslachenko took part in the European Football Championship in France in 1960 and won the title with the Soviet selection, although he was not used as a substitute behind Lev Yashin . Also at the World Championships in 1958 and 1962 he was part of the Soviet squad, but was equally unused.

After the active career

From the 1970s Maslatschenko was active as a sports commentator, first on the radio and then on television, where he became one of the most famous commentators in the country. In 1972/73 he also worked as a trainer in Chad.
