Mark Fistric (* 1. June 1986 in Edmonton , Alberta ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player , who during his playing career from 2002 to 2015 among other 339 games for the Dallas Stars , Edmonton Oilers and Anaheim Ducks in the National Hockey League of on Has contested the position of the defender .
Career
Fistric first played from 2000 to 2002 for the Maple Leaf Athletic Club in the Alberta Midget Hockey League . During the 2001/02 season he made his debut with the Vancouver Giants from the Western Hockey League , to whose regular squad he belonged from the fall of 2002. Before his final move to the WHL, he received the AMHL Brian Benning Trophy as the best defender in the league. Fistric had four successful years with the Giants, crowned by winning the President's Cup and participating in the Memorial Cup in his last year . In addition, he had participated in 2004 in the Top Prospects Game of the Canadian Hockey League and was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2004 in the first round in 28th place by the Dallas Stars . For his services to the Vancouver Giants, he was inducted on January 23, 2011 as the third player in the Giants Ring of Honor at the Pacific Coliseum .
In the summer of 2006 Fistric switched to the Dallas Stars franchise , where he first played for a year and a half for the Iowa Stars farm team in the American Hockey League . The rookie immediately secured a regular place in Iowa and made the jump to the NHL roster for the Dallas Stars in the middle of the 2007/08 season . There the defender was only used sporadically and so he spent large parts of the 2008/09 season with the Manitoba Moose in the AHL. With the Moose, Fistric reached the Calder Cup final, the final round of the AHL championship. There Manitoba lost to the Hershey Bears in the best-of-seven series after six games with 2: 4.
From the beginning of the 2009/10 season , Mark Fistric was a permanent member of the Dallas Stars' squad. In his first full season in the National Hockey League , the defender completed 67 games. He succeeded on October 22, 2009 in a game of the Stars against the Los Angeles Kings also his first NHL goal. On January 14, 2013, he was transferred to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for a third-round vote in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft . For the 2013-14 season, Fistric was signed by the Anaheim Ducks .
