Wolf Reiser

Wolf Reiser (born December 30, 1955 in Munderkingen , Baden-Württemberg ) is a German writer .

Life

Reiser grew up in the Swabian Alb . He describes the time of this youth in the long essay The whole truth about Stuttgart 21 , in which he explores the Swabian psyche and mood between Elser and Rommel , RAF and Hölderlin . Reiser studied literature and theater studies from 1975 to 1982 at the FU Berlin and later at the LMU Munich .

At the beginning of the eighties he began his writing activities and subsequently worked for several well-known magazines in German-speaking countries, including a. he published reports , essays and short stories in Cicero , Mare , brand eins , Playboy and Maxim . Extensive trips, for example to Haiti , Egypt , Mexico , Poland , the Soviet Union and above all in the entire Mediterranean region were reflected in sensitive and associative reports. In an exchange of letters with Jörg Fauser , Harry Rowohlt noted : “I would like to be able to write that too. I want to be able to talk like that too. Where can you read more of him? "

He described his encounters with Jean-Claude Ellena , Sir Patrick Fermor , Vincent Klink , Taj Mahal , Henry Maske , Barbara Rudnik and Wolf Wondratschek in portrait interviews. There were two picture-text cycles with the Berlin artist Klaus Schweier : Men.Boxing.Runden (1996) and 126 Days (1997) with exhibitions in Berlin, Hamburg, Amsterdam, Munich.

Today Wolf Reiser lives in Munich- Schwabing and temporarily in a beach house in the Peloponnese , in which Nikos Kazantzakis and Georgios Zorbas, among others, previously lived.
