Wolfgang Büscher (journalist)
Wolfgang Büscher (born May 20, 1951 in Volkmarsen near Kassel ) is a German journalist , author and long-distance hiker .
Life
Büscher graduated from high school in 1970 and then studied political science at the Philipps University of Marburg . He is a writer and reporter for the world group. For many years he wrote for daily newspapers such as the Süddeutsche Zeitung and the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung . He also worked for the Geo magazine and headed the report department at the daily newspaper Die Welt until March 2005 , then he wrote for Die Zeit .
Büscher became known for his long-distance hikes. He not only wandered through North America and Eastern Europe , he also circled Germany on its border areas. Büscher's style is deeply researched and historically shaped travelogues . In 1998 his first book was published, Drei Stunden Null. German adventure .
Büscher is married and has two children.
