Wolfgang Burandt

Wolfgang Burandt (* 1957 ) is a German lawyer , mediator and legal scholar with a professorship for commercial law at the Nordakademie .

education

Wolfgang Burandt studied law at the University of Hamburg , the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) , the Universiteit van Amsterdam , Columbia University, New York and McGill University , Montréal . From 1984, he completed his internship at the German-Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Montreal (Quebec) and Toronto (Ontario), at the University of Administrative Sciences , Speyer , the legal advisor of the Hamburg Parliament , in the legal department of Dresdner Bank AG in Hamburg and at the Hamburg Regional Court and the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court. In 1987 he successfully passed his second state examination in law in Hamburg.

In 1998 he completed further training to become an executor ( DVEV ). In 1999 he received his doctorate as Dr. jur. In 2000 he further qualified as a specialist lawyer for family law . After an 18-month apprenticeship in Hamburg and Heidelberg , he trained to become a mediator (BAFM) until 2002 and at the same time completed a degree in "Mergers and Acquisitions" at the Westphalian Wilhelms University , Münster , which he graduated in 2003 , Master of Laws , LL.M. finished successfully. In 2004 he completed a further course of studies at the University of Wales / Cardiff in the field of "Financial Services" with an MBA . In 2005 Burandt finally completed a third postgraduate course, this time at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt / Oder with a Master of Arts degree in mediation . In 2006 he further qualified as a specialist lawyer for inheritance law . In 2012, Burandt completed a training course for further professional qualification as a specialist lawyer for commercial and company law .

From 1987 to 1990 he was a research assistant at the Helmut Schmidt University Hamburg in the department of economics and organizational sciences at the chair for civil, commercial and corporate law. Since 1990 he has been a freelance lawyer in Hamburg . From 1992 to 1997 he mainly worked as a liquidator, sequester, appraiser and bankruptcy administrator.

In 2004 he was appointed lecturer for business law at the Nordakademie. In the following year he was elected first chairman of the specialist lawyers' committee for inheritance law of the Hanseatic Bar Association in Hamburg. In 2007 the North Academy appointed him honorary professor for business law. At the same time, the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster appointed him a lecturer in mediation.

In 2008 he joined the law firm SES Schlutius Eulitz Schrader in Hamburg , which in 2009 joined the law firm SKW Schwarz Rechtsanwälte, Wirtschaftsprüfer, Steuerberater with offices in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg and Munich.

Since 2016 he has been working as a freelance lawyer in the Hamburg law firm WIRTSCHAFTSRAT Recht. In the same year Burandt was also accepted as an associated scientist in the Institute for Applied Business Law.

Burandt's publication list has so far counted over 600 publications. Among other things, he acts as the editor and author of several specialist books and legal commentaries as well as the monthly magazine FuR - Familie und Recht (FUR). He is also an advisory board member of the monthly ZErb - magazine for tax and inheritance law practice .
