Wolfgang E. Groeger

Wolfgang Eduard Groeger (born April 8, 1882 in Riga , † October 19, 1950 in Wetter ) was a translator and editor of Russian literature.

Life

After attending school and university in Moscow , Groeger spent several years in East Asia .

He received his doctorate as Dr. jur. and lived in Berlin-Steglitz since 1921 . After 1949 he lived first in Erlangen and then in Wetter (Ruhr).

Groeger was only allowed to publish to a limited extent during the National Socialist era . Thomas Mann appreciated his work.
