Wolfgang Kraßnitzer

Wolfgang Kraßnitzer (* 1941 in Graz ) is an Austrian actor , theater director and radio play speaker .

Life

Wolfgang Kraßnitzer was trained as an actor in Zurich. He had permanent engagements at many well-known German-speaking theaters such as the state theaters in Hanover , Karlsruhe and Stuttgart , the theaters in Bochum , Düsseldorf and Hamburg , the United Theaters in Graz and the St. Gallen Festival . Well-known roles are Alfred Ill in The Visit of the Old Lady by Friedrich Dürrenmatt , the title role in Thomas Bernhard's Theater Maker or Valentin in the spendthrift by Ferdinand Raimund .

Kraßnitzer, who has been working as a freelance since 1985, also works as a theater director and has staged on stages in Hamburg, Nuremberg, Salzburg, Stuttgart and Vienna. Trips in front of the camera are rare for him, but he can be heard more often as a speaker in productions for ORF and German broadcasters.
