Wolfgang Mazal

Wolfgang Mazal (born December 9, 1959 in Vienna ) is an Austrian labor , social and medical lawyer .

Life

Mazal studied law at the University of Vienna from 1977 to 1981 . In 1981 he was awarded a Dr. iur. PhD . Between 1981 and 1983 he studied at the Vienna Theological Courses and completed a theological training. In addition, he was an assistant at the Institute for Canon Law of the Faculty of Law at the University of Vienna in 1981/1982 and completed a court year in the area of ​​the Higher Regional Court of Vienna as well as practice at Price Waterhouse Vienna. Between 1983 and 1992 he was assistant and lecturer at the Institute for Labor and Social Law at the University of Vienna, at the Vienna University of Economics and Business and at the Vienna University of Technology .

With the help of the Erwin Schrödinger scholarship from the Fund for the Promotion of Scientific Research, he was able to complete a research stay at the Research Center for Social Law and Health Economics at the University of Bayreuth in 1989/1990 . In 1991 he completed his habilitation at the University of Vienna and received the venia legendi for the subjects of Austrian labor law and Austrian social law. In 1992, he received a call to the chair of labor and social law at the University of Vienna. He also represents medical law at the Medical University of Vienna and the Medical University of Graz . He was also a lecturer at PEF Private University for Management .

Mazal is involved in numerous specialist bodies, for example in the European Institute for Social Security. He is president of the Austrian Institute for Family Research. In 1994 he founded the specialist journal “Law of Medicine”, of which he is the editor. He is the chairman of the scientific review committee for the Leopold Kunschak Prize . He is a member of the scientific advisory board of the Upper Austrian think tank ACADEMIA SUPERIOR - Society for Future Research .

Wolfgang Mazal has been a member of the Catholic student association K.Ö.St.V. Nibelungia zu Wien, since 2013 honorary philistine of the KAV Norica zu Wien, both in the ÖCV and since 2010 honorary member of the K.Ö.St.V. Austro-Bavaria Vienna in the MKV .
