Wolfgang Sigismund von Orsini-Rosenberg (* 16th April 1682 in Vienna , † 18th April 1739 on Thalenstein at Niedertrixen , Völkermarkt ), fully Wolfgangus Sigismundus Carolus Josephus (from 1684) , Count Orsini-Rosenberg, Baron of Lerchenau and Grafstein was a Carinthian nobleman from the Orsini-Rosenberg family . From 1728 to 1734 he held the office of the Carinthian provincial governor .

Life

Wolfgang Sigismund studied philosophy in Vienna and law in Prague, later in Leiden. 1701 to 1703 he completed an extensive cavalier tour . After his return he was the chamberlain of Emperor Joseph I and in 1716 of Emperor Karl VI. After his wedding in 1721 he moved to Carinthia, where he lived in Klagenfurt and at Haimburg Castle . In 1722 he was elected by the Carinthian estates. In 1724 he became a kk chamberlain and secret councilor. In 1728 he was appointed governor of Carinthia. In contrast to the earlier common appointment for life, Charles VI appointed him. like its predecessor, only for five years. In 1733 Orsini-Rosenberg was elected burgrave in Carinthia.

Orsini-Rosenberg married Maria Anna Countess of Hohenfeldt in 1721. He had the following children with her:

Orsini-Rosenberg died in 1739 at Thalenstein Castle and was buried in the Xaveri Chapel of the cathedral and parish church of Klagenfurt.
