Wolfgang Stahl

Wolfgang Stahl (born January 20, 1972 ) is a German lawyer and criminal defense attorney . His main focus is on defense in commercial and tax criminal law as well as criminal law audits .

Life

Wolfgang Stahl comes from near Koblenz . He studied law at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms University in Bonn . Stahl works exclusively as a criminal defense attorney. He has been admitted to the bar since 2004 and is a member of the Koblenz Bar Association.

He is a German lawyer and specialist lawyer for criminal law . The focus of his work lies in commercial and tax criminal law as well as criminal law audits. Initially, he mainly dealt with military criminal and military disciplinary matters in general staff departments of the command authorities of the Bundeswehr, then he turned to comprehensive proceedings.

He became known to the general public in November 2011 when he and Wolfgang Heer took over the defense of right-wing extremist Beate Zschäpe , who is a former member of the Nazi underground terrorist group . In August 2012, Anja Sturm joined Beate Zschäpes as third defender. After Stahl and Sturm had initially worked as unpaid defense lawyers, they were appointed further public defenders by the Munich Higher Regional Court in December 2012 .

At that time, Stahl and Boris von Deringer were partners in the law firm stahl von deringer in Koblenz. In the course of the process, the Zschäpe lawyers increasingly came into focus. During and after the trial, Stahl was interviewed several times by magazines and newspapers and portrayed in the special issue FOCUS SPEZIAL - Germany's top lawyers . In addition, he and his colleagues have been invited to panel discussions at universities several times. In December 2014 Stahl left the Koblenz law firm and founded his own law firm Stahl Rechtsanwälte in the immediate vicinity.

He is a lieutenant colonel in the Bundeswehr reserve . Stahl was a member of the FDP for years and was a member of the district executive committee, but has since left the party. In 2019, alongside politicians like Wolfgang Schäuble , Sahra Wagenknecht or Jens Spahn, he contributed to Michael Kühnlein's anthology conservative?!: Miniatures from culture, politics and science .
