Wolfgang Zöller (born June 18, 1942 in Eisenbach ) is a German politician ( CSU ).

From 2009 to 2013 he was the Federal Government's patient representative and had previously been Deputy Chairman of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group since 2004 .

Life and work

After completing secondary school at the state secondary school in Klingenberg , Zöller did an apprenticeship as a mechanic, which he completed with the skilled worker examination. He then visited the Ohm Polytechnic Nuremberg , which he called Diploma - Engineering for engineering left (FH). After further training as a safety engineer , he was the chief safety engineer at AKZO in Obernburg am Main from 1972 to 1990 .

Wolfgang Zöller is Catholic , married and the father of two children.

On April 28, 2014, Federal Health Minister Hermann Gröhe Zöller appointed Commissioner for health policy cooperation with Greece . He performs this task on a voluntary basis in the Federal Ministry of Health .

Political party

In 1969 Zöller became a member of the Junge Union and the CSU. From 1989 to 1995 he was chairman of the CSU district association Miltenberg . Since 2001 he has been chairman of the CSU's health policy working group.

MP

From 1972 to 1978 Zöller was a member of the municipal council of his birthplace Eisenbach and, after its incorporation, from 1978 to 2002 of the city ​​council of Obernburg. Since 1978 he has also been a member of the district council of the Miltenberg district and was chairman of the CSU parliamentary group from 1984 to 1987 .

From 1990 Zöller was a member of the German Bundestag . From 1994 to 2005 he was health policy spokesman for the CSU regional group and from 1998 to 2005 he was deputy chairman of the Bundestag committee for health and for health and social security. From 2002 to 2004 he was also chairman of the working group on health and social security, family, senior citizens, women and youth of the CSU regional group. In the Bundestag he was repeatedly noticed by his numerous heckling calls.

On November 26, 2004, Zöller was elected as the successor to the resigned Horst Seehofer as deputy chairman of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group for health and social security. Since November 2005 he has been responsible for health, nutrition, agriculture and consumer protection. Since November 2009 he has been the Federal Government's patient representative.

Wolfgang Zöller has always entered the Bundestag as a directly elected member of the Main-Spessart constituency . In the 2005 Bundestag election , he achieved 56.8% of the first votes . In the 2009 Bundestag elections , he defended his direct mandate with 52.4% of the first votes against seven competitors.

For the general election in 2013 Zoeller did not occur again.
