The Wulveskuhlen are a former nature reserve in the Lower Saxony city ​​of Wunstorf in the Hanover region .

The nature reserve with the registration number NSG HA 059 was 42.5  hectares in size. It was part of the FFH area “Steinhuder Meer (with peripheral areas)” and the EU bird sanctuary “Steinhuder Meer”. A little to the north is the former nature reserve “ Ostufer Steinhuder Meer ”. The area has been under nature protection since June 30, 1981. On May 27, 2016, the ordinance was repealed as a nature reserve. The areas became part of the new NSG HA 154 Totes Moor . The responsible lower nature conservation authority was the Hanover region.

The former nature reserve is located within the " Steinhuder Meer " nature park on the east bank of the Steinhuder Meer north of Steinhude . It turned a reed - and rush area in front of the eastern shore of the Steinhuder sea with landing areas and riparian areas with swamps and wetland thickets under protection. The river banks are close to nature with aquatic plants - and silting companies, of sea and water lilies companies and subsequent bulrushes be embossed and reedbed belts -. This is followed by reed beds with gray willow bushes and black alder on the land side . In isolated cases alder and birch forests have formed with pronounced peat moss vegetation.

The former nature reserve is of particular importance as a habitat and wintering place for birds , amphibians , reptiles , fish and insects .
