The first album Bloodline in 2016 already combined chicha with psychedelic rock and West African desert blues, western motifs with Catholic-Biblical themes and the mystical imagery of the Mexican Dia de Muertos . The album contains titles like Killer , Dead Man or Vampiro . For their European tour in 2019 a single was released with the Lee Hazlewood - Nancy Sinatra classic Summer Wine . From the beginning they worked closely with the visual artist Daniel Martin Diaz, who designed all the visual elements of their record covers, photos and videos. Her stage outfit in black is reminiscent of Quentin Tarantino , zombie films and ZZ Top . Anke Behlert writes: “With a highly stylized, cinematic mixture, XIXA perfectly depict the cultural hybrid of indigenous, Anglo, Afro and Latin influences of their homeland. The new sound of the American Southwest is wild, cross-border and timeless. "
