Yūto Ōsawa ( Japanese 大 澤 勇 斗 , Ōsawa Yūto ; born October 3, 1993 in Tomakomai , Hokkaidō ) is a Japanese ice hockey player who has been under contract with Olofströms IK from Swedish Division 2 , the country's fourth-highest division , since February 2018 .

Career

Yūto Ōsawa began his career as a hockey player with youth teams in his hometown of Tomakomai . In 2012 he went to Sweden for a year, where he was active for the Mora IK mainly in the highest junior league, the J20 SuperElit . But he was also occasionally used in the professional team that plays in the HockeyAllsvenskan . The striker then returned to Japan and played three years for the Ōji Eagles in the Asia League Ice Hockey . In 2016 he moved to the United States and played for a year and a half for various teams in the Federal Hockey League . In February 2018 he went back to Sweden, where he has since played at Olofströms IK in Division 2 , the country's fourth-highest division.

International

For Japan, Ōsawa already took part in the U-18 World Championships in 2009 and 2010 . At the U-20 World Cup in 2013 , as captain of his team with the Japanese at the Division II tournament in Brașov, he returned to Division I after relegation the year before.

Ōsawa made his debut in the men's national team at the 2013 World Cup , when his team competed in Group A of Division I. In 2014 , 2015 and 2016 he played in Division I. He also represented his colors in the qualifying tournaments for the Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang 2018 .

Achievements and Awards

• 2013 Promotion to Division I, Group B, of the U-20 World Championships by winning the U-20 World Cup, Division II, Group A.
