There Debayle was both in sprint and in pursuit 16th and tenth with the French relay. A year later he ran in Khanty-Mansiysk in 22nd place in the sprint, 15th in the pursuit and just missed a medal in fourth place with the relay. Things went even better at the Junior European Championship of the year in Haute-Maurienne . Here the Frenchman reached the ranks 20 in the individual, eight in the sprint, seven in the pursuit and won the silver medal with Sylvain Mouton, Julien Ughetto and Sebastien Zeno behind the Russian relay.

Since 2003 Debayle competed in the men's area. His very first races at the Biathlon European Cup in Forni Avoltri brought him single-digit results. The highlight of the first men's season was the 2003 European Biathlon Championships in Forni Avoltri. The French ran in the continental title fights in Italy to the fifth place in the individual, the 34th place in the sprint, the 32nd place in the pursuit and finished ninth with the relay. In the 2003/04 season Debayle made his debut in the Biathlon World Cup . He contested his first race in a sprint in Hochfilzen, which he finished in 83rd. After four races without winning points, the Frenchman was relegated to the European Cup. There he was able to quickly build on his successes and finished second behind Sergei Bashkirow in a sprint race in Méribel and thus achieved a podium finish for the first time. A little later he was allowed to compete again in the World Cup season finale at Holmenkollen in Oslo and achieved his best placings in the racing series with 41st in the sprint and 37th in the pursuit. The results in the European Cup stayed better. In 2005 he won a pursuit race in Gurnigel , in 2006 he was again second behind Carsten Pump , this time in an individual, in Ridnaun . The last major event was the 2006 European Biathlon Championships in Langdorf . There Debayle came in 20th place in the individual and was fifth with the relay of France. In the sprint he was only 82nd 2007 he ended his active career.
