Yavuz Karakoç (born July 26, 1988 ) is a Turkish ice hockey player who has been under contract with Zeytinburnu Belediye SK in the Turkish Super League since 2013 .

Career

Yavuz Karakoç began his career as a hockey player at İzmir Büyükşehir Belediyesi SK , for whom he made his debut in the Turkish Super League in the 2003/04 season at the age of 15 . In 2004 he left the club and moved to league rivals Kocaeli Büyükşehir Belediyesi Kağıt SK . With the team from İzmit he won the Turkish national championship in 2007 and was runner-up several times. After nine years at Kocaeli BBK, he joined league newcomer Zeytinburnu Belediye SK in 2013 , for whom he has played since and with whom he became Turkish champions in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

International

For Turkey, Karakoç took part in the junior division in Division III at the U18 World Championships in 2005 , when the team first had to prevail in a qualifying tournament against Bosnia-Herzegovina and Armenia, and in 2006 and the U20 World Championships in 2005 , 2006 , 2007 and 2008 when he was voted best player on his team.

He played with the men's national team at the World Championships in Division II in 2007 , 2013 and 2014 as well as in the World Championships in Division III in 2008 , 2009 , 2011 , 2015 and 2016 . He also represented his colors in qualifying for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver .
