Yayıkağıl (kurd. Kimsor ) is a Kurdish mountain village in the district of Nazımiye in the Turkish province of Tunceli . Yayıkağıl is located approx. 18 km northeast of the district town Nazımiye on a plateau 1,850 m above sea level.
Yayıkağıl is located on the slope and belongs to the Bucak Büyükyurt . In 1985 there were 392 people in Yayıkağıl. In 2009, 43 people remained there due to the incipient rural exodus.
Yayıkağıl is influenced by Alevi . In contrast to the surrounding villages, Kurdish is spoken in the village , but Zazaisch is also understood. Originally the village was from the tribe inhabited the Kumsuran. On Dersim massacre 1937/1938, the villagers did not participate. In 1944 the first village school was opened and in 1985 Yayıkağıl was connected to the public electricity network. The population lives from keeping small animals and from farming.
Surname
The original place name is Kimsor. The local population still calls the village by its old name. In the Dersim report of the General Command of the Turkish Gendarmerie from 1932 Kimsor is listed as a name. The book reports on local traditions about place names. It was originally called Kimisorlu. Tribesmen of the Aşiret of the Şaddilî put the name in the form “Kumsor” in connection with the word for Kizilbasch (“red head”). “Kum” is a head covering and “sor” means “red”. The name was changed to the current name in the 1960s. In the 1965 census, Kimsor is still listed as an alternative name.
